Fenofibrate is used along with a proper diet to help lower bad cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise good cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. Fenofibrate works by increasing the natural substance (enzyme) that breaks down fats in the blood. Fenofibrate belongs to a group of medicines known as fibrates.

How To Use

Take fenofibrate by mouth with food as directed by the doctor.

Take fenofibrate regularly to get the most benefit from it.

To help remember, take fenofibrate at the same time.

The patients with hepatic (liver) and renal (kidney) impairment, risk factors for muscular disorders, and secondary causes of dyslipidemia [elevated total or low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, or low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol] should use this medicine cautiously.

The patients administered with this medicine may experience gastrointestinal disturbances, rash, dizziness, sexual activity changes, muscular abnormalities, liver abnormalities, abnormal hair loss, increased sun sensitivity.
