Dervit - B Ointment 30g 50mcg/0.5mg ointment is composed of Calcipotriol (50mcg)
Calcipotriol is also known as a form of vitamin D. It is used in the treatment of psoriasis. It is safe for long-term application in psoriatic skin conditions. It inhibits cell proliferation and enhances cell differentiation in the skin of patients with psoriasis.
The ointment is used on the trunk and limbs.
The cream is more often used in the body folds or on the face and ears.
The scalp solution is used in hairy areas.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) as directed by your doctor, usually once daily.
Rub it in gently and completely.

Avoid getting any medication in the eyes or mouth. If this occurs, rinse right away with water.
Apply this product regularly to get the most benefit from it.
Quantity is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
Do not increase your quantity or take this product more often than directed.
Avoid exposure of calcipotriol to excessive natural or artificial light to avoid photosensitivity. Do not increase the quantity than prescribed by the doctor. If the condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious
right away. Keep it out of the reach of children. Store it at room temperature. Keep it away from sunlight.
It is indicated for the treatment of moderate plaque psoriasis in adults.
It is safe and effective in treating dermatoses other than psoriasis.
It is indicated that calcipotriol also improved overall disease severity in children.
Patients using this medication may at times experience pruritis (severe itchy skin), rash, and folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles). If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.

This medicine should not be used by breastfeeding mothers.

Patients with liver disease should consult their doctor before using calcipotriol.

The use of alcohol should be limited or avoided while using calcipotriol.
Patients who are allergic to calcipotriol or any of its components should consult the doctor before taking it. If taking any vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products are taken then consult the doctor before using calcipotriol. If any sort of swelling is experienced, consult your doctor immediately. Taking calcipotriol supplements, especially in high doses, might result in kidney and liver impairment.
This medicine should not be used in patients with calcium metabolism disorder, and severely impaired renal (kidney) or hepatic (liver) functions.
How long can I use calcipotriol?
It should be taken daily for up to four weeks.
How long does calcipotriol take to work?
It starts showing its effect within a week.
What do I do if I forget to take the dose?
If you forget to take a dose, it can be taken soon as possible, but if the time of next dose is approaching, skip the missing dose.
Does calcipotriol make skin sensitive?
The Skin may become more sensitive to sunlight than normal while you are using calcipotriol. Try to avoid sitting out in the sun and do not use sunbeds.
Does calcipotriol cause a burning sensation?
Yes, it is a common side effect. This should soon pass but if any continue or become severe, speak with your doctor.
